Shot Stopping 1on1 Session;

Incorporating a before, transition & during moment to each rep -

GK moves to set based on coaches touch working on angle/height of set position.

Technical handling & diving reps using rebounder & distractions/pressure with mannequins & coach following in.

Individual handling & shot stopping basics;

  1. Coach serves a stationary ball for warm up / handling foundation work.

  2. GK distributes ball back to Coach who takes a touch to change the angle of approach.

  3. GK works on getting back into correct position after distribution to appropriately set and save.

Individual crossing basics;

BEFORE - Here the coach calls out a cone color to move the GK into an unbalanced position as the ball is struck to try and replicate "distractions" that might occur in a game.

DURING - GK must then re-adjust, read the flight of the cross to catch.

AFTER - then look to transition to start an attack with distribution

Individual short passing to defensive transition to save;

In this individual activity to GK warms up with some basic prep touch (1st touch) & passing work before progression to re-adjust position to make a save in a defensive transition situation.

Activation warm up with handling;

An example of how you can incorporate technical handling & footwork into a physical warm up where necessary.
